Patient Success Story: Patricia’s Journey to Better Sleep

When Patricia first started her CPAP journey, things weren’t easy.

She had no trouble with the pressure settings - they were working really well to keep her apnea in check - but she could only wear her CPAP mask for about an hour each night. No matter how many adjustments we made, she just couldn't keep it on for longer than that.

Over the next few months, we tried different approaches, tweaking settings and finding ways to make the experience more comfortable.

As we know, it takes time for the body and mind to adjust to CPAP therapy, and we remained committed to persistence and consistency.

Each time we checked in, Patricia would report the same issue:

"I still can’t wear it longer than an hour."

It was frustrating, not just for her, but for me too. I wished I could do more, but I knew the key was to keep encouraging her and hold her accountable for sticking with it.

Then, one day, something changed.

At her 12-month mark, Patricia shared the breakthrough we had all been waiting for: she could wear the mask all night long.

No more struggling, no more discomfort. It was working!

Since that moment, Patricia’s progress has continued. She’s been wearing her CPAP without issue every night, and when we checked in a few months later for her Dream Check Up, she told me

"It’s so comfortable now. I wouldn’t go a night without it!"

Her success is a reminder that persistence pays off. With the right support and time to adjust, anyone can make CPAP therapy work for them.
