Hey there, sleep-seekers!

You know I’m all about helping you sleep like a dream, but I’ve seen some things in the CPAP world that make me want to facepalm into next week.

If you want to avoid common mistakes (and weird mask marks), here’s a list of CPAP sins you definitely want to avoid.

Let’s get into it.

🚫 CPAP Mistakes You’ll Want to Skip:

1. Using someone else’s mask.

I get it - sharing is caring. But not when it comes to CPAP gear. Your face, your fit, your health.

Get your own mask. Full stop.

2. Putting essential oils in the water chamber.

Look, I love a good lavender moment too, but your CPAP isn’t a diffuser. Oils can damage your machine and leave a mess behind. Keep it clean and scent-free.

3. Ignoring regular cleaning.

A dirty CPAP isn’t just gross - it’s basically a bacteria rave.

Stay consistent with cleaning and your lungs will thank you.

4. Overtightening your mask.

More pressure does NOT equal better seal. All you’ll get are sore spots, leaks, and maybe a grumpy face in the morning. Fit it snug, not suffocating.

5. Using baby wipes to clean your mask.

They might be gentle on bums, but not on your CPAP. Residue from baby wipes can mess with your mask seal. Use CPAP-specific wipes or just plain soap and water.

6. Panicking when you wake up without the mask on.

It happens. You’re human. Don’t stress. Just put it back on tomorrow night and keep going.

Consistency is key.

Stay kind to your face, your machine, and your sleep.

Avoid these no-nos, and you’re well on your way to dreamy nights ahead.

Sweet dreams,

Nina
